What GlyphSnap processes

GlyphSnap lets you photograph, draw, edit, and export letterforms. Photos and drawings are processed in your browser or on your device. GlyphSnap does not upload the source photos you choose.

Generated fonts

When you build a font on glyphsnap.com, the generated font file is sent to the GlyphSnap server temporarily so the site can provide an OTF download and, when requested, an iPhone installation profile. These temporary files are not intended as permanent storage. Save your font and GlyphSnap project to your own device if you want to keep them.

Saved projects

GlyphSnap project files are created on your device. You control where they are saved and how they are shared. GlyphSnap does not currently provide user accounts or cloud project storage.

Website information

Like most websites, the hosting server may record limited technical information needed to operate and secure the service, such as an IP address, browser information, requested pages, and request times. GlyphSnap does not use advertising trackers or sell personal information.

Optional analytics

The GlyphSnap website uses Google Analytics only after you choose Allow analytics. It measures information such as page visits, general device and browser type, and how the website is used. GlyphSnap does not include your source photos, drawings, glyph content, generated fonts, or project files in analytics events. Your choice is stored in your browser and can be changed through Analytics settings in the website footer.

Third-party services

GlyphSnap may load software libraries from a content delivery network when a local copy is unavailable. The optional label-guessing feature requires an internet connection. If you allow analytics, the website also loads Google Analytics. Those providers may receive ordinary connection information when their resources are requested.

Your choices

You can use the drawing tools without providing your name or creating an account. You can clear your work, close the page, or delete exported files from your device at any time.
